Perhaps it’s the unexpected encounter—a fleeting moment with wildlife, where a glance, a movement, becomes an image to treasure. Or the vibrant energy of tradition and culture, playing out before your lens, where every detail tells a story, and your camera becomes the key to remembering it.
In this competition, I’m inviting you to share those unforgettable moments. Whether it's a scene shaped by beautiful conditions, a chance encounter with wildlife, or simply the essence of a place captured through your eyes.

CONTEST DETAILS + PRIZE
This contest aims to celebrate the experiences we have and capture when travelling. What does travel mean to you, and which image of yours visually showcases this?
HOW TO ENTER:
Select an image that visually represents an experience you’ve had on your travels. It can relate to any subject; wildlife, landscapes, culture, portraits, self-portraits, local hikes…whatever travel means to you.
Post your image on Instagram + include a caption (no word limit) that describes the moment behind the lens or reflects upon the experience.
Tag @thetravelphotographyclub + use the hashtag #thetravelphotographyclub so I can find your entry. Any entry without these tags will not be valid.

You can enter more than once, however, please note, the winner will be determined on one single image only. No carousels, image series or reels will be considered.
ENTRIES CLOSE MONDAY, OCTOBER 14TH AT MIDNIGHT BRISBANE TIME (GMT+10). *late entries will not be considered.
Photographic impact will be the main component in the judging process, select an image you're proud of, that reflects who you are as a photographer. I'm not judging based on textbook photographic practices and classic imagery, I'm judging on which images stand out, which showcase the experience best, and highlight the creative vision of the photographer.
THE PRIZE:
The winner will receive enrolment to The Freelance Travel Photography Course (valued at $460AUD), plus 1 x Annual Membership to The Travel Photography Club (valued at $86AUD). Total prize value is $546AUD.
*If the chosen winner has already participated in The Freelance Travel Photography Course, the prize will be replaced with a Portfolio Review + Feedback Session to the same value.

Completely fine, the courses are designed to be self-paced, so you can access, and work through them whenever you like, at whatever pace suits your lifestyle. Start next week, start next year...whatever works for you.

Yes and no, if your caption is beautifully written and connects with your chosen image in such a way that it makes me want to immediately book a trip...then you may win too. Yes, you can enter multiple times however each entry must contain a single image and be tagged appropriately, including a caption. The winner will be chosen based on one image only though, series, or carousels are not permitted.

Please only enter images with minimal editing. You're of course welcome to edit your image and do standard enhancements using editing software to produce the final image, however no AI-generated imagery will be considered, and images with obvious sky replacements or unnatural looking appearances will not be judged highly. This contest celebrates the real experiences of travel, the natural world, and real moments.

Ensure you include the subject line 'Travel Photography Contest Entry - YOUR NAME', and each image must be no larger than 5MB. Please include a short paragraph about the experience/moment captured.
